A fantastic opportunity for a senior, registered clinical professional to experience a change in career to join a newly established procurement service as a Clinical Procurement Nurse.

NHS Devon Procurement Service (DPS) brings together expertise and buying power across Devon to deliver better value, stronger contracts, and improved outcomes for patients.  We contract on behalf of:

- Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
- Torbay & South Devon NHS Foundation Trust
- Devon Partnership NHS Trust
- University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust
- Livewell Community Services

This role is recognised as being essential in support of clinical teams with waste reduction initiatives, product selection and evaluation across all areas of clinical activity.

The role of Clinical Procurement Nurse is a unique role which offers the right candidate the chance to further develop themselves and the role for continued delivery of value back to colleagues and patient care.

Consideration will be given as a secondment opportunity for candidates demonstrating the right level of skills and experience required to maximise the value from this hybrid nursing opportunity.

***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

### Main duties of the job

The role requires senior individuals with demonstrable experience who are able to communicate with confidence across all levels of the NHS and external companies to support in delivery of the best product for patient care.

Support the procurement and supply chain management team with identifying solutions to a rapidly changing medical environment with new innovative products and methods working.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

- Communication

a)    Communicate closely with all Medical Device Groups within the sector to ensure a consistency of approach.

- Knowledge, Training, and Experience

- b)    Engage with clinical staff to secure commitment to the procurement work plan and strategy. c)     Communicate complex clinical information to procurement and clinical staff to help them to make an informed procurement decision. d)    Promote closer working relationships with procurement colleagues, encouraging cross team working, to enable full benefit realisation. e)    Facilitate and lead meetings with multidisciplinary teams to discuss procurement strategies and clinical requirements. f)      To process complex, sensitive information, and present different levels of information to different audiences according to the needs of the audience. Qualifications a)    Registered Nurse with current NMC PIN number. b)    Masters level qualification or relevant clinical experience.
