This role is there to provide expertise, support and advice to clinical practitioners regarding all aspects of clinical care support those attending the JPUH with new or ongoing mental health difficulties and illness; to identify their needs, ensuring these are met effectively whilst in hospital and to contribute towards timely/supportive discharge planning. Our vital service operates 24/7, 365 days of the year which means you will be expected to work a shift pattern. JPUH is located in the coastal town of Gorleston, just a stones throw from beautiful beaches and with great connections to Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. A flexible ‘can do’ attitude, with a willingness to build links with acute hospital colleagues is essential to ensure that a proactive interface is created between mental health and acute services. From working alongside colleagues in the A&E department, to in-reaching to the wards, supporting substance misuse colleagues and liaising with other mental health professionals, you will work across the JPUH supporting individuals presenting to the acute hospital with mental health issues. We’re looking for an individual who wants to grow and develop their knowledge and skills by working closely with colleagues, sharing experience and knowledge to continually learn from each other. Ideally you’ll be a Non-Medical Prescriber with experience, particularly in areas of older adult's mental health, acute mental health and risk management.
