Are you looking for a new dynamic and different nursing challenge caring for children with Cystic Fibrosis (CF)?  An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced respiratory nurse to join our current dynamic CF Multi-Disciplinary Team.  We are looking for a respiratory children’s nurse with vision and enthusiasm to contribute to the continued quality and the developmental success of our service. It is an opportunity to work within a specialist team who are part of an international and national network of CF teams sharing information, knowledge and research to improve the lives of CF patients.

The 0.6 WTE role will allow you to develop clinical expertise in managing the chronic health needs of CF patients as well as the complex psychosocial support a family requires.

### Main duties of the job

Good clinical assessment skills are required to support your decision making and escalation of care as well as an ability to teach families.  We will support your development with a tailored educational pathway.

This post will contribute on the coordination and management of the transition to adult healthcare pathway for children and young people with CF from the age of 12yrs, and provide clinical care, respiratory assessment, education, and psychosocial support in the outreach setting visiting CF patients at home, school and in their local hospitals.

They will work alongside other CF CNS' within the team to manage the caseload for approx 200 children and young people with CF in the inpatient and outpatient clinic setting at GOSH, manage care over email/telephone, attend & be an active participant in CF multidisciplinary clinical and psychosocial meetings, participate in quality improvement projects, service evaluation and support ward staff to provide CF evidence based practice.

- Sufficient experience at band 6 level or equivalent, including within relevant clinical environment

- Previous experience of change management and problem solving
- Understanding of resource management, health and safety, clinical risk and quality issues
- Child protection procedures
- Handling clinical incidents and complaints
- Good attendance record
- Evidence of fulfilling PREP
