### Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Nurse Manager to lead our dedicated team on Falcon Ward, a 17-bed Medium Secure Male Admissions Ward within West London NHS Trust.

Falcon Ward provides specialist assessment, treatment and care for men experiencing mental disorder who require treatment within a secure setting. The ward primarily supports service users during the admission and assessment phase of their recovery journey, providing a safe, structured and therapeutic environment that promotes engagement, recovery and positive outcomes.

As Clinical Nurse Manager, you will provide strong clinical and operational leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe and person-centred care. You will support and develop staff, promote continuous improvement, and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for service users.

### Main duties of the job

The Clinical Nurse Manager will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to all ward-based staff and ensuring the MDT provides a consistent approach.

Overview of Main Duties and Responsibilities

- To establish and maintain communication, with various individuals and groups of patients, carers and staff on complex potentially stressful topics in a range of situations.
- To develop knowledge and practice on the ward and across the service.
- To promote best practice in health, safety and security.
- To develop and improve services.
- To enable people to exercise their rights and promote their equality and diversity.
- To ensure the ongoing assessment of people’s care needs on the ward.
- To ensure that the planning, delivery and evaluation of care programmes addresses the complex and changing needs all patients.
- To develop and sustain partnership working with individuals, groups, communities and agencies.
- To lead the ward team in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice.
- To allocate, coordinate, monitor and assess the work of the team and individuals
- Adhere to NMC Code of Professional Conduct guidelines and requirements, promoting the highest standards of conduct and maintaining knowledge of current issues and changes in professional practice.
- To plan, obtain and deploy physical and/or financial resources.

### Experience

**Essential**

- First line management experience.
- Two years’ experience as Band 6 in Mental Health Care inpatient services
- Experience of providing management supervision
- Experience as Primary Nurse.

**Desirable**

- Experience of leading teambuilding
- Experience in teaching/developing nurses

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Hold a current registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Nurse. RN3, RNMH, RN4, RN5, RN6, RNLD.

**Desirable**

- Masters Degree or equivalent experience
- ENB 770 or equivalent
- ENB 998 or45
- Teaching Qualification
- NVQ Assessor
- Relevant post registration health care and/or management qualifications
