The theatre complex at The Manor Hospital consists of 6 operating theatres an intervention room and cardiac Cath lab. In addition we provide support in CT and MRI for GA's including children.

Act as the specialist lead for orthopaedic surgical procedures and theatre workfl ows

Set, monitor, and maintain high standards of perioperative care in line with national guidance, Trust policies, and SOPs

Demonstrate visible leadership, promoting professionalism, accountability, and a culture of safety

Lead clinical governance within orthopaedic theatres

Ensure compliance with WHO surgical safety standards, infection prevention, implant traceability, and documentation

Lead investigations into incidents, complications, and near misses, ensuring timely reporting and learning

Embed learning from audits, incidents, and GIRFT recommendations into clinical practice

Insuring NGR compliance and submissions.

Work collaboratively with theatre management to optimise list utilisation, improve patient flow, and reduce cancellations

Contribute to capacity planning, service resilience, and business continuity

Support delivery of elective and trauma activity in line with performance targets

Act as line manager for designated Orthopaedic theatre staff

Lead appraisals, performance management, and professional development planning

Manage sickness absence and promote staff wellbeing, engagement, and retention

Support workforce planning, safe staffing levels, and appropriate skill mix

Ensure all staff are appropriately trained, competent, and compliant within orthopaedic practice

Oversee induction, competency assessment, and ongoing professional development

Facilitate education related to new equipment, implants, and surgical techniques

Surgical first assistant qualification preferred.

Work with procurement, sterile services, and suppliers to ensure safe, cost-effective, and timely provision of equipment and implants
