Band 7 Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist -  Stroke Rehabilitation.

Permanent contract, 37.5hrs per week.

We are seeking to recruit a Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist within the West Cumberland Hospital Stroke Rehabilitation team.

The successful applicant will provide clinical leadership to the Stroke Rehabilitation Occupational Therapy team, as well as delivering the assessment and treatment of complex patients within this specialist area. Although predominantly situated within the Stroke Rehabilitation Team, the role also requires cross‑cover into the acute setting to provide operational support, oversight and leadership during periods of high demand and staff absence.

A Band 6–7 development post will also be considered, with the expectation that the successful candidate will meet the full role requirements within 12–18 months.

### Main duties of the job

The service is part of a strong Occupational Therapy network, with links to the teams in West Cumberland Hospital, Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle, as well as the wider health and social care settings across North Cumbria. This provides many professional development opportunities and there is a strong focus on CPD within the team. You will have access to high quality, regular clinical supervision, and we offer an excellent induction, ongoing professional support and a highly rewarding job to the successful applicant.

To manage the Occupational Therapy teams servicing  stroke inpatient areas.

Plan, allocate and evaluate clinical workloads and service delivery in these areas using audit and research skills.

Act as clinical specialist to Occupational Therapy staff and other Health Care Professionals (in acute and community) for stroke interventions and discharge planning.

Ensure the provision of quality occupational therapy services across  the  Stroke Rehabilitation OT team.

To provide responsive quality occupational therapy assessment and intervention to patients across the Stroke Rehabilitation wards.

Work with the Head OT, Deputy Head OT and other Clinical Lead OTs, to lead on change management to promote quality healthcare provision.

Provide support and cross cover to the acute aspects of the Occupational Therapy Department at times of service pressure and in the absence of the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist for the acute team.
