### Job overview

The Clinical Lead will be accountable to the Clinical Director and the Patient Safety and Effectiveness Committee to ensure the Resuscitation Service meets its required objectives. The main responsibilities include supporting the Resuscitation Service Lead and Resuscitation Department in the delivery of a safe resuscitation service. This is achieved through the provision of day to day operational support on all Trust sites and through the provision of clinical and educational expertise in the field of resuscitation practice. The post holder will need to ensure patient safety through clinical governance processes within the service and be accountable for the delivery of national standards with regard to resuscitation, advance care planning and patient deterioration. The post holder will work closely with the Resuscitation Service Lead to deliver these objectives.

### Main duties of the job

- In conjunction with key stakeholders, work as part of the CAPPRO Clinical and Operational Leadership Team to strategically develop the quality, clinical governance, Patient Safety and Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and improvement workstreams.
- Support Clinical Governance within the Resuscitation Service.
- Ensure the Trust Resuscitation Policy and national guidance from the Resuscitation Council UK is implemented across the Trust and provide evidence when required to do so.
- Chair quarterly meetings of the Resuscitation Committee, preparing through pre-meets with the Resuscitation Service Lead.
- Attend six monthly meetings of the National Cardiac Arrest Audit Committee and contribute to the ongoing work of this group.
- Work in a collaborative manner within the management structure of the Directorate and Division.
- Support the Resuscitation Service in the management of incidents or safety concerns pertaining to resuscitation.
- Alongside the Resuscitation Service lead agree, coordinate and maintain policies and procedures that optimise patient safety with particular focus on key workstreams in the department (e.g. ReSPECT, management of the deteriorating patient).
- Promote improvements in resuscitation education, clinical productivity and digital innovation.

- Experience of working in acute care within a large Trust
- Recent experience in managing clinical services
- Knowledge and understanding of clinical governance gained from experience of working with such systems
