### Job overview

To assist in the smooth and efficient running of the Imaging Care Unit by providing clinical and administrative support and enhanced clinical skills to deliver a high-quality service to all outpatients both on the main site at Chesterfield Royal Hospital Foundation trust and our community diagnostic site at Walton Hospital. To assist and co-ordinate the transfer of in-patients to and from the wards to ensure smooth patient pathways throughout all areas of the Imaging Care Unit.

### Main duties of the job

- Assist the Imaging Team in the care of the Patient:-

a) Helping patients undress (if necessary) prior to examination

b) Assist during examination/procedures giving care and reassurance

c) Assist patients for discharge and inform them of the results procedure

- Chaperone patients during examination as required.
- Escort patients to and from wards when required.
- Assist with processing of images and post examination documentation.
- Maintain a tidy and safe department ensuring rooms are adequately stocked with linen/stock/equipment.
- Ensure that the Trust’s Prevention and Control of Infection policies and procedures are implemented and always maintained.
- Have an awareness of the Clinical Governance agenda.
- Support and take active role in research and audit undertaken by other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- To actively participate in the Staff Development Process Review.
- Encourage, mentor and train all team members within GIA and CIA teams.
- Active participation in stock control

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- GCSE A-C Grade in English (or equivalent)
- Willingness to undertake QCF training - Levels 3 in Health & Social Care

**Desirable**

- Previous relevant experience
- QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care GCSE Maths(A-C Grade)

### Experience / Skills

**Essential**

- Cannulation experience
- Good organisational skills
- Evidence of Team work
- Demonstration of compassion and empathy
- Ability to travel across site

**Desirable**

- Previous healthcare experience
