Trauma Orthopaedic Surgical wards at Pilgrim Hospital are looking to recruit both experienced and new to care Health Care Support Workers. We are looking for a highly motivated individuals who want to work in a busy and demanding environment. They must have excellent communication skills and enjoy being part of a team. The Clinical Health Care Support Worker will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide safe, compassionate and high quality care to patients. The post holder will support registered nurses and other health professionals in delivering both clinical and non-clinical duties including nutritional support, observations, maintaining patient comfort, dignity and independence. There is also opportunities to develop and undertake training such as cannulation, venepuncture and simple wounds. ### Main duties of the job The successful candidates will work within an established Trauma Orthopaedic team, carrying out essential patient care under the direction and supervision of a qualified nurse. Previous experience of working in a health/care setting is desirable but not essential as training will be given. The successful applicants will receive an induction program and will be supported to develop extended roles such as venepuncture, medical observations and other clinical skills. The position will involve all aspects of patient care, with a wide variety of patients with diverse nursing needs. The role will involve working alongside the nurses on the ward to deliver an excellent positive care experience.
