## Job Content

### Job overview

INTERNAL APPLICATIONS ONLY

We are looking for a FY2 Doctor to join our team in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the expansion of our rota to 1:10.

We offer a friendly, supportive environment and have an active Postgraduate Medical Centre, with a small team of friendly staff who are regularly praised for their high level of support and pastoral care to the foundation doctors.

This post is from 4th August 2026-4th August 2027

### Main duties of the job

Duties will include routine admissions, ward duties and ward rounds, occasional assistance at out-patient clinics.  The working pattern for the posts in this rotation is full shift.  Your duties will be arranged with the consultant to whom you are responsible, and you must discuss and understand these duties as soon as you take up your appointment.  Your consultant has final medical responsibility for all patients under his/her care, therefore, any clinical problems beyond your experience, or problems causing anxiety should be referred to the consultants, a more senior member of your team, or in their absence, the appropriate person on duty for them.

The resident doctor accepts that he/she will also perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant, in consultation, where practicable, with his/her colleagues, both senior and junior.  It has been agreed between the professions and the Department that while residents accept that they will perform such duties, the Secretary of State stresses that additional commitments arising under this sub-section are exceptional, and in particular, that residents should not be required to undertake work of this kind for prolonged periods, or on a regular basis.

Rotations are to be confirmed and will cover both Medicine and Surgical areas.

The post holder is expected to attend the regular foundation year one teaching programme.
