This is an exciting opportunity for full-time ST1-2 doctor with previous NHS experience to join University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust and provide medical care at the BRI Hospital.

We have three Clinical Fellow vacancies which would be suitable for ST1-2 level doctors with at least 6 months NHS experience who are interested in exploring general medicine. This role is fixed term for 12 months.

Working hours will be 1 in 4 weekends.

The successful candidate would be based within Medicine and will have the opportunity to rotate across several specialties including Acute Medicine, Care of the Elderly, Respiratory, Diabetes and Endocrine and Gastroenterology.

On call duties and clerking shifts will be with the general internal medical team, covering the whole hospital.

## Person Specification

### Skills and Abilities

**Essential**

- Arterial and venipuncture
- Insertion of venous cannulae
- Tapping of pleural and ascetic fluid and occasionally placing a chest or ascetic drain (E) IV fluid management
- Blood transfusion
- Assessing the INR and warfarin prescribing
- Willingness to work flexibly according to trusts need

**Desirable**

- Ability to perform a variety of practical procedures (temporary pacemaker, central line insertion)

### Additional and Aptitudes

**Essential**

- IT skills on all Microsoft packages
- Fluent English speaker

**Desirable**

- Previous leadership experience

### Knowledge and Experience

**Essential**

- Previous knowledge and experience of General Medicine and the interpretation of common blood tests and ECG
- 1 year at F2/SHO level in General Medicine

**Desirable**

- 6 months experience in Acute Medicine or ED as F2/CT1

### Qualifications and training

**Essential**

- Full GMC registration
- Completion of Foundation Training (or equivalent)

**Desirable**

- MRCP Part 1
