### Job overview

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Core in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) – Out of Hours on call cover. The post is available for a 12 month period, commencing as soon as possible.

These posts are aimed at, but not exclusive to, individuals wishing to pursue a career in OMFS and undertaking or planning to undertake their second degree to fulfil their career objectives. The department strongly supports these individuals throughout their time in Cambridge.

These posts provide out of hours on call cover for the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery service at Addenbrooke’s in conjunction with the duty registrar and consultant as well as other members of the team. Duties include ward cover and attendance to the Emergency Department to assess patients referred by our ED and other colleagues. The successful applicant will also provide assistance in theatres and straight forward treatments such as suturing of facial lacerations.

### Main duties of the job

This post is to cover out of hours cover for ED and ward patients including post operative elective patients.

The successful appointee will have experience in OMFS and be familiar with common procedures.

Please note that these posts do not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required or full registration with General Dental Council (GDC).

- MBBS / BDS or equivalent qualification
- Full Registration with the General Dental Council or Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application
- Completion of Foundation Competencies
- Some previous working experience in OMFS in a hospital setting

- MRCS / MFDS or equivalent qualification
- Completion of a Core Surgical Programme or equivalent
