We are recruiting for a Clinical Exercise Physiologist who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

### Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, you will play a crucial role in our multi-disciplinary prehabilitation team that works to support the Medway patients in their peri-operative pathway. You will communicate with patients to offer prehabilitation support, advice and help with motivation during their journey to self-improve and reduce their clinical risk of complications following surgery.

You will be supported by a group of dedicated Consultant Periop Anaesthetic Physicians and bolstered by skilled allied health professions in support of this work.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Effective communication skills will support the post holder as they manage the patient pathway of these high-risk patients and support the other disciplines in their activity.

CPET testing will require competencies in ECG and general observations of physical parameters to monitor for ongoing pathology during the test. This will help support our consultants to ensure the safe delivery of the testing process. Guided by these CPET results, the post holder will have an expertise in creating personalised exercise prescriptions and Nutrional support. The successful candidate will work with other specialist members of the team to achieve the best possible outcome for the patients.
