This is a full time, senior nursing post, the requirement of which will be to perform high quality Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy and Flexible sigmoidoscopy within a high-volume endoscopy service. The post holder will play a key role in the delivery of a safe, efficient and patient-centred service within Endoscopy and Gastroenterology within our well-established Gastroenterology Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Team, which includes a Nurse Consultant, Clinical Endoscopist, IBD, Lower GI STT and Upper GI cancer CNS’s ### Main duties of the job The provision of a high standard of individualised holistic patient care to all patients attending the endoscopy unit and Gastroenterology Service. Performing endoscopy procedures which will include diagnostic upper and/or lower GI endoscopy in line with the BSG, ACPGBI and AUGIS guidance on the scope of professional practice for clinical endoscopists and to work as part of a large multidisciplinary team. Attendance at MDT meetings in colorectal, hepatobiliary and upper GI. The candidate will be expected to autonomously manage a caseload of patients using advanced assessment skills within the Gastroenterology Service, including face to face and virtual Nurse-Led clinics within the sub-specialities of upper gastro-intestinal, hepatobiliary and lower GI disease to support in the delivery of new and patient follow up in both routine and Faster Diagnosis Standard pathways.
