### The Role

The Clinical Educator supports high‑quality learning and development for nursing staff, students, and support workers within the Renal Department. The role ensures education is aligned with NMC standards, NHS Lanarkshire policy, and service needs. The educator promotes evidence‑based practice, facilitates clinical competency, and supports safe and effective care delivery for renal patients.

### In this key role, you will:

- Plan, deliver, and evaluate education and training for renal nursing staff and students.
- Support learners in achieving competencies including haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, AVF management, and renal‑specific clinical skills.
- Work closely with Practice Supervisors/Practice Assessors to ensure high‑quality supervision.
- Promote reflective practice and facilitate clinical development.
- Act as a resource for students regarding placement expectations, learning opportunities, and professional behaviours.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and service development.
- Support implementation of new clinical guidelines, pathways, and technologies.
- Maintain up‑to‑date clinical knowledge and competence in renal nursing.
- Provide direct clinical support and act as a positive clinical role model.
- Support compliance with NMC Code and NHS Lanarkshire workforce development strategies.
- Contribute to induction programmes for new staff.

- Registered Nurse or ODP with valid Professional Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
- Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
