We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Clinical Assurance Manager to join our Quality Team. This influential role will lead and support clinical assurance, audit, accreditation and improvement activity across the Trust, helping to ensure high standards of care and continuous service improvement.

Working closely with senior clinical and operational leaders, you will provide expert advice on clinical audit methodology, assurance processes and quality improvement initiatives. You will coordinate Trust-wide assurance projects, support national audit participation, and contribute to reporting that informs quality governance and Board assurance.

### Main duties of the job

As the Clinical Assurance Manager, you will:

- Lead and coordinate Trust-wide clinical audit and assurance projects.
- Support the development and delivery of improvement programmes arising from audit and assurance findings.
- Provide specialist advice on audit design, methodology, data analysis and reporting.
- Coordinate participation in national clinical audits and assurance programmes.
- Support accreditation programmes and quality assessments across services.
- Produce high-quality reports for senior leaders, committees and Trust Board assurance processes.
- Work collaboratively with clinical teams, governance leads and senior managers to improve quality and patient safety.
- Supervise and support the Clinical Assurance Specialist and other junior team members.
- Deliver training and guidance on clinical audit, assurance and quality improvement methodologies.

About You

We are looking for someone who possesses:

Essential

- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject such as quality improvement, clinical audit, research, governance or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Extensive NHS experience.
- Significant experience of undertaking and coordinating clinical audit, assurance projects or research activity.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to influence and work effectively with senior clinicians and managers.
- Experience of analysing, interpreting and presenting complex information and data.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Desirable

- Experience of supervising staff.
- Knowledge of national healthcare quality standards, assurance frameworks and accreditation programmes.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience using audit or governance systems.

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
