30 hours  - 6 Months Secondment

Band 5 Registered Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Registered Band 5 Nurse to join our dynamic Endocrine Nursing team in our Endocrine Investigation Unit St George’s Hospital site on a fixed term contact of 6 months .

The role is to deliver high quality specialist care and support to patients with Endocrine conditions. Clinical responsibilities will include performing dynamic function testing, checking results and assisting/conducting patient education sessions and assisting with GLP-1 starts.

The successful candidate will ideally have some experience in Endocrinology and is expected to work closely with consultants, members of the MDT, patient support groups, PALS and research personnel. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team are essential.

To provide outstanding care to patients all of the time.  Actively participating in and contributing to the day to day activities of the department. Supervising, supporting and mentoring students and HCAs. Assisting with Endocrine tests and investigation.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Phlebotomy experience – or willing to be trained
- 2 years post qualification experience
- Phlebotomy and cannulation experience Working in or willing to be trained in endocrinology

**Desirable**

- Experience in endocrinology and DFT’s
