### Job overview

An opportunity has arisen to join a small, dedicated admin team in CIAU  as a Receptionist/Clerical Officer to contribute to the delivery of an efficient and effective reception and administrative service within the department. You will work on a rota basis across several administrative tasks to maintain competency and diversity in roles and duties.

Previous administrative experience including Booking or Appointment experience would be beneficial, but is not essential as full training will be provided.

Working knowledge of using Microsoft Office applications, an understanding of data protection and maintaining strict confidentiality in the healthcare setting are all essential, together with excellent organisational and communication skills, flexibility, good time management and the ability to work as part of a team.

The successful post holder will work closely with managers and staff at all levels to help develop and maintain a high quality Patient Access Service.

The successful applicant will be a strong team player, highly organised with the ability to manage their own workload as well as being flexible enough to support colleagues. The successful applicant will also have excellent communication skills and demonstrate empathy when speaking with patients.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working within an office environment
- Experience of working in a public facing role.

**Desirable**

- Relevant experience within the NHS

### Further Training

**Essential**

- Knowledge of / experience of using information and/or customer service systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Excel and Word.

**Desirable**

- Previous experience Infoflex / 59R Software
- Previous experience of PAS / Infoflex / SystmOne (area specific software)

### Skills and Knowledge

**Essential**

- Excellent communication skills, with ability to deal with staff at all levels.
- Displays use of initiative with effective organisational skill
- Ability to prioritise and work to strict/conflicting deadlines

- GCSE at Grade C/4 in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications) or equivalent experience
