Working Full Time: 37.5 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated, highly motivated, and computer-literate individual to join the Administration Team within the Radiology Department at The Countess of Chester Hospital.

Applications are welcomed from experienced administrators who are confident working independently, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and possess excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills. A flexible and proactive approach is essential.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the Radiology Department at The Countess of Chester Hospital. However, flexibility is required to support the wider service as needed, including assisting colleagues during periods of increased demand and providing emergency cover across the department, including at Ellesmere Port Hospital.

You will be joining a friendly, supportive, and hardworking team that is committed to delivering a high-quality service, and we look forward to welcoming the successful candidate.

### Main duties of the job

- Undertake a comprehensive range of reception and administrative duties, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
- Manage, schedule, and amend patient appointments in line with clinical guidance, Trust Access Policy requirements, and Patient Pathway standards, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail at all times.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills when liaising with patients, consultants, clinicians, and colleagues across the Trust, providing a professional and courteous service.
- Utilise a working knowledge of general office procedures and Microsoft Office applications to support daily administrative functions. Full training will be provided in the use of Cerner and Medisec systems, while knowledge of medical terminology would be advantageous.
- Work collaboratively as part of a flexible and supportive team, assisting with periods of increased demand and providing cover where required to ensure the effective delivery of departmental services.

## Person Specification

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in English

**Desirable**

- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Business Administration

### Knowledge and Experience

**Essential**

- The ability to prioritise work load, work on own initiative and work unsupervised.
- The ability to communicate and liaise with colleagues at all levels
- Willingness to undertake further training and personal development
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access & Outlook
- Ability to set up and maintain both paper and electronic filing/administrative systems & diaries
- Previous experience of working in a similar environment

**Desirable**

- Good MS Word and e-mail skills and be familiar with other Microsoft Office products, including Excel & PowerPoint
- A working knowledge of the Cerner system would be advantageous
