### Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clerical Officer within the Main Office, Area Laboratories at University Hospital Crosshouse. This post is offered on a permanent basis.

### Hours:

16.00 hours per week worked over 3 days : Wednesday 1600-2100hrs; Thursday 1600-2100hrs; Friday 1500-2100hrs

### From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

### UK Driving Licence:

A UK driving licence is essential for this role.

### What you will do:

Working within the Laboratory Office at Crosshouse / Ayr Hospital, you will be required to undertake data entry of patient laboratory blood requests into the WinPath Computer system in addition to a range of clerical duties and routine tasks as required within the Laboratory.

### Knowledge, training and/or experience required for this post:

- Advanced keyboard and typing skills, ensuring fast, efficient, and accurate data entry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Strong understanding of Data Protection, Confidentiality, and Privacy policies, with the ability to apply these consistently in daily practice
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and service users.
- Experience in prioritising tasks and managing time efficiently to meet deadlines
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Trusted to use discretion and sound judgement when handling sensitive information and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times
