### Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and adaptable individual with experience in clerical and administration duties.

You will provide a comprehensive and efficient reception and, examinations booking service to patients attending the Imaging Department. You will respond to and deal with a variety of often complex requests in a timely manner, whether by telephone, fax or in person. You will be expected to work independently and manage and prioritise their workload, liaising closely with the wider administration team in the Department.

You will be joining an exceptional team who have shared values and consistently strive to provide high quality patient care. We work collaboratively with other multidisciplinary teams to improve our service, as well as supporting staff to develop their skills and confidence within the department.

### Main duties of the job

- Perform administrative tasks according to Trust, Departmental and statutory regulations.
- Provide a high standard of patient care within the Imaging Department.
- To communicate effectively in order to ensure the smooth running of the service.
- To supervise junior staff within the Imaging department.
- To demonstrate a commitment to the Directorate and Trust Objectives.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- General clerical experience including filing
- Knowledge of hospital CERNER patient administration system
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience of having working relationships with clinicians, GPs, managers, consultants and other clinical staff.

**Desirable**

- Prior experience of working in a healthcare environment Experience of using a Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Knowledge of NHS waiting and booking targets

### Education/ qualifications

**Essential**

- A Level, NVQ 3 or equivalent experience
- Formal Customer Care Training or willingness to undertake

### Skills/knowledge/ abilities

**Essential**

- Good keyboard and IT skills
- Ability to manage difficult situations
- Ability to input and retrieve data accurately on a computerised system
- Ability to work within a team as well as independently with a professional approach towards work and colleagues

**Desirable**

- Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word & Outlook)
