## Job Content

### Job overview

We are seeking a motivated Speech and Language Therapist (Band 5) to join our Children’s Therapy Service within the Women & Child Health Division (Community Directorate) at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a variety of settings, including children’s centres, nurseries, mainstream and special schools, health centres, and client homes within the culturally diverse borough of Sandwell.

As a Band 5 therapist, you will manage your own clinical caseload, assessing, diagnosing, and providing intervention for children with speech, language, and communication needs, including those for whom English is not the first language. You will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and liaise with families, schools, and other professionals to deliver holistic care.

The role offers excellent opportunities for professional development, including support to achieve Newly Qualified Practitioner (NQP) competencies, participation in departmental projects, and access to Continuing Professional Development (CPD). You will also contribute to service development initiatives and uphold high standards of clinical governance.

This position is ideal for a proactive individual who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people and committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.

### Main duties of the job

Assessment, diagnosis, advice and support for children across Sandwell.

We work with children aged from 0 to 16 or older if in full time education.

We provide a service in schools, clinics, nurseries and children's own homes.

We are an award winning team and have been recognised as Outstanding by CQC. We are the authors of WellComm Early Years and WellComm Primary – both of which are published language screens that are used nationally.

We pride ourselves on being not only innovative and resourceful but also friendly, supportive and fun.

We are looking to recruit a Speech and Language Therapist to join our Integrated Children’s Community Therapy Service in Sandwell (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech & Language Therapy).
