Clinical supervision, in-service training, quality improvement projects and CPD opportunities will be offered to progress your skill development as a therapist.  Applications for flexible working will be considered. ### Main duties of the job The Community Children’s Therapies team provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy for children and young people up to the age of 19 in Tower Hamlets. Most of the children and young people we work with have developmental difficulties which often are linked to a medical diagnosis e.g. cerebral palsy or autism. Our services are delivered in clinics, mainstream and special schools, nursery settings, children and family centres and homes. You will be required to complete visits in a variety of settings eg homes, schools, children’s centres. As well as working at a ‘specialist’ level where we accept referrals for individual children and young people to our service, we also work with partner organisations like schools and children and family centres to enable other professionals to support families at a ‘targeted’ level. Building the capacity of other professionals and parents to support children and young people with developmental difficulties is a key priority for our team. The role of the post holder is to provide a highly specialist and evidence-based Occupational Therapy Service to a specialist caseload of children with complex health and physical needs attending a designated special school as well as mainstream schools.
