An exciting opportunity exists for a Chief Nursing Information Officer to work with our Care Collaboratives and Digital Programmes team, helping to support a transformational digital modernisation programme and introduce an electronic patient record system.

The CNIO role combines knowledge of patient care, digital technology and change management to effectively address the information and knowledge needs of healthcare professionals and patients to promote safe, effective, and efficient use of Digital Health solutions in clinical settings.

The post holder will act as a change agent working with nursing and clinical leadership teams to identify, develop, plan, implement, and measure initiatives that deliver the digital strategy and support quality patient care and professional practice.

### Main duties of the job

The CNIO role combines knowledge of patient care, digital technology and change management to effectively address the information and knowledge needs of healthcare professionals and patients to promote safe, effective, and efficient use of Digital Health solutions in clinical settings with the ultimate aim of improving patient outcomes.

The post holder will act as a change agent working with nursing and clinical leadership teams in the identification, development, planning, implementation, and measurement of initiatives that deliver the digital strategy to support quality patient care and professional practice.

The CNIO will work closely with the Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO), Associate Director of Digital and Head of Digital Programmes to deliver the Trust’s digital strategy with particular focus on making the digital strategy work for clinicians, support the objectives to:

- Use technology and information to enable smarter, safer working
- Digitise our health and care records so that information can be shared quickly, appropriately, securely, to improve health outcomes
- Provide public facing digital services
- Understand our data and its context to be able to make informed decisions to improve patient care and population health

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Professional nursing or AHP qualification
- Registered with relevant Professional Regulator
- Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development
- Evidence of post registration training/education
- Educated to Masters level or equivalent or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge

**Desirable**

- Certified Clinical Safety Officer
- Registered with a professional body related to Information Technology e.g. FEDIP, The Chartered Institute for IT, or the Faculty of Clinical Informatics (FCI).
- A high level of knowledge for Programme and Project Management.
- Information technology related qualifications or training
- To have completed or be working towards accredited courses which enable potential development

- Demonstrable experience in leading at least one major digital intervention, such as deployment of an Electronic Patient Record system to improve care quality, within the last five years.

- Extensive experience in clinical practice with substantial experience as a senior nurse / manager
