Are you a qualified mental health nurse with CAMHS and/or inpatient experience, seeking a new challenge?

We are looking for compassionate individuals to join us as full time Charge Nurses at the Meadow Unit, a brand new state-of-the-art purpose built hospital which specialises in the care of those aged 11-18.

The Meadow Unit offers 8 inpatient beds to those young people who require intense support and treatment not possible within the community or a general adolescent unit. We assess and treat those with a wide range of disorders and difficulties including; Psychosis, Bi-Polar/Mood disorders, Depression, Emotional Dysregulation, and Trauma.

Our service aims to provide excellent, safe care with the highest quality of nursing care to young people and their families whom require support from the inpatient team. We pride ourselves on being flexible, passionate and dynamic in our approach to treatment and care and aim to work with young people in a collaborative and holistic manner. Our practice is guided by evidence and best-practice and we believe excellent clinical supervision and reflective spaces are essential maintain wellbeing and reflective practice.

### Main duties of the job

We have a large MDT team to work alongside including; Teachers, Psychologists, Dietician, Occupational therapists, Family therapist, Consultant and Medical team, Administrators, Activity coordinators and Health care assistants. There is the opportunity to work alongside different disciplines to share knowledge, ideas and ensure that the assessment of a young person and their family is thorough and individualised.

You will have the opportunity to support the Ward Manager and Modern Matron in:

- Provide day to day leadership to the ward and support the nursing team to develop.
- Supporting staff recruitment, assisting for interviews
- Delivering preceptorship & completing inductions
- Identifying training needs within the nursing team and resolving how to address these.
- Be part of the team who identifies training needs and delivers these to the nursing team.
- You will also assist in ensuring that the unit meets all Trust and National policies and guidelines and may support the implementation of any audits or changes in standards or policy alterations.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Understanding of Child Protection issues.
- Understanding of the multidisciplinary approach.
- Understanding of the effects of mental illness on young people and their families
- Extensive demonstratable experience working in CAMHS or inpatient units

**Desirable**

- Experience in quality improvement projects

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)

**Desirable**

- Management courses/qualifications

### Skills/Knowledge

**Essential**

- A good understanding and working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983
- Leadership experience

**Desirable**

- Ability to adapt to different approaches of care.
