These are exciting training opportunities within a large, forward-looking ophthalmology service, offering structured support and broad subspecialty exposure for doctors wishing to progress via the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) route. You will participate in all aspects of ophthalmology within the department and will join the Specialist Trainee on-call rota. Weekly timetables vary depending on the subspecialty placement, but typically include a mix of: - specialist clinics - theatre sessions - laser or injection sessions - eye casualty - admin time - weekly teaching Each fellow will be allocated an Educational Supervisor, and a CESR Lead will be confirmed on appointment. You will be expected to engage with workplace-based assessments, appraisal, clinical supervision and portfolio development in line with CESR requirements. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities These posts are offered for 12 months in the first instance, with the expectation of extension up to 36 months, subject to satisfactory progress. You will rotate through 6-month subspecialty placements and will receive training, supervision and educational support aligned to the experience of doctors on formal training programmes.
