### Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and committed individual to join a very busy Catering Department.

Based at Glangwili Hospital, you will have the day to day responsibility for providing front line supervision within the department and support all catering staff involved in food service and food production for staff, visitors and patients.

### Main duties of the job

Applicants will preferably have some supervisory qualifications or a proven track record of supervising a large staff group.

Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills together with a flexible approach to the needs of the service are essential. The post holder will work a 37.5 hour week with a requirement to work unsociable hours and weekends & bank holidays.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of dealing with general public
- Supervisory/team leading experience

**Desirable**

- Previous NHS experience
- Supervisory experience in similar establishment
- Experience of cleaning duties

### Language Skills

- Welsh Speaker (level 1)

### Qualifications & Knowledge

**Essential**

- Good level of general education
- Level 3 award in Supervising Food Safety
- Knowledge of Food Hygiene
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, COSHH
- Knowledge of Moving & Handling
- Knowledge of HACCP

**Desirable**

- ILM Level 3 award in Supervisory Training
- In depth knowledge of catering processes and procedures
- Knowledge of allergens and therapeutic diets
- City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent
