We are recruiting to the Team at Northgate Park Hospital to work within our friendly Catering Department. This post is offered at - 15 hours per week Saturday and Sunday every week. Shift Pattern 10.00 - 18.00 ### Main duties of the job Basic food preparation/ packing and cleaning duties within a chilled environment. Manual handling duties to include excepting and putting deliveries away, collecting items to prep & pack within a walk in freezer, chilled environment Candidate will be expected to work within a chilled and freezer environment Regeneration of patients food in a ward environment ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities Please find attached job description for full details. Anyone currently paying into the NHS Pension scheme will be able to retain this. ### Applicant requirements The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions. ## Person Specification ### Experience **Essential** - Any previous service industry experience (but we will train you fully if you don’t have any experience) **Desirable** - Previous experience of stock control ### Skills and Knowledge **Essential** - An ability to communicate well with others such as other colleagues, clinical staff, or patients - Able to work well as part of a team but also to work unsupervised - Ability to adhere to standards and procedures and to accept and prioritise instructions - Must be able to meet the mobility requirements of the post **Desirable** - Basic knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety (but training will be given as part of your role) ### Education and Qualifications **Essential** - You don’t need any formal qualifications for this job, but a certificate in hygiene is desirable.
