To assist in developing, maintaining and promoting the highest standards of service delivery, supporting, team working practices and the Facilities Unit commitment to EFQMS; and helping to maintain open and effective communications. The post holder will work either as part of the ward based catering team or as part of the Main Kitchen catering team and will be responsible for food preparation or regeneration, meal service and cleaning of all catering areas. This post is fixed term/secondment for 9 months to cover maternity leave. If you are interested in applying for it as a secondment, please obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying. ### Main duties of the job The Principal Duties of the job are as follows: - To prepare food and beverages in accordance with Health Board policy, procedures and legislative requirements; - To assist nursing staff with meal service at ward level; - To serve beverages at ward level in accordance with patient requests; - To serve staff and customers in the dining room providing a professional and polite service; - To operate the cash register accurately; - To ensure all catering areas are cleaned in accordance with daily and weekly cleaning schedules. - In the event of a major incident or to support adverse weather or other Facilities services contingency, the post holder may be required to be called in outside of normal working hours to support the Facilities Services in the contingency actions when and where required.
