Band 4 Cardiology Cath Lab Scheduler

The Cardiovascular CAG is offering an exciting opportunity to join the Barts Heart Centre’s Cardiology Scheduler. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will be responsible for the scheduling of admissions through our Cardiology Labs and work closely with the clinical teams in the area and beyond.

The post holder will be required to assist in the running of the admission service and the improvement of services to the scheduling processes to meet the demand of the service.

They are required to make improvements to the service with the guidance of both the Team Leader and Bookings Deputy Delivery Manager, and the clinical teams to improve efficiency and the demand of the service.

To ensure that service requirements are meet and national targets are adhered to.

Clinicians from Barts Health NHS Trust, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) and further afield are working together to create a single specialist centre for cardiovascular disease to cover all our local communities. You will be joining us at an incredibly exciting time, as we realise a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to improve services for patients and secure them for future generations in creating a world class cardiovascular service.

## Person Specification

### Skills

**Essential**

- Keyboard skills to access and input to data systems, and competent in Microsoft Office products.
- Competence with a range of IT packages, e.g. CRS and Excel.
- The ability to plan and co-ordinate activities and changes to systems or standards

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- A good level of medical terminology acquired through education, training or work experience
- Experience of a range of IT packages such as word, excel, outlook and power point
- Good knowledge and understanding of RTT pathways and targets (18 week pathway)

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of NHS systems (Cerner)
- Understanding of Data Protection Act, GDPR, and Freedom of Information Act

### Experience

**Essential**

- administration/ medical secretarial/ pathway experience or equivalent non NHS

**Desirable**

- Experience scheduling medical procedures or appointments
- Experience of validating patient data and pathways

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- GCSE A Level or equivalent standard of education
