### Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated exercise physiologist to join the Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust Cardiac Rehab service. This will be an exciting opportunity for you to enhance your skills in caring for cardiac patients. We provide a Phase III and IV service for patients with a variety of backgrounds and those that have a wide range of cardiac disease. As a band 5 Exercise Physiologist you will play a key role in providing exercise prescription for cardiovascular exercise and other conditions. You will also be involved with the delivery and evaluation of the exercise programme as well as the educational components in Phase III and IV. This will include delivery of face to face and/or Hybrid approach.

The post will involve cross-site working and some evening work.

### Main duties of the job

Delivery of the exercise component of cardiac rehabilitation (Phases III – IV) both within the acute trust and primary care setting. To advise individuals with coronary heart disease and other conditions on the most suitable form of physical activity and to promote lifelong healthy habits. Contribute to the delivery of the educational component of cardiac rehabilitation. To maintain and improve standards of professional practice in order to enhance the quality of care for a defined client group. To establish new and innovative working practices in collaboration with health, leisure and social services and other agencies Promoting research, in the provision of evidence based practice, collecting and evaluating audit data.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Must have experience in delivering Cardiac Rehabilitation
- Management of exercise programmes for patients with CHD and other related diseases

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Degree Sports Science or Physiotherapy or equivalent
- BACPR IV (or willing to undertake training)

**Desirable**

- Health Education qualification
- MSc in Cardiac Rehabilitation
- Qualified gym Instructor
