We are seeking to appoint a motivated and organised Administrator to join the Cancer Services team. Candidates should have previous administrative experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ideally some understanding of NHS healthcare systems.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in a varied and rewarding role. The post holder will support the Cancer Services Team, with a particular focus on assisting Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinators with data management and patient tracking, alongside providing general administrative support across the service.

The role offers the opportunity to develop knowledge and experience in key areas, including:

- Cancer diagnosis and treatment pathways
- National cancer data requirements
- Management of national cancer waiting time standards

This role has been approved for advertising; however, it is also being assessed as a suitable alternative employment opportunity. As a result, the vacancy may be withdrawn or there may be a delay before shortlisting can begin.

This role is open to all applicants. However, in line with Cornwall First recruitment principles, initial shortlisting will prioritise applicants from Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and the Integrated Care Board for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

### Main duties of the job

Cancer Services provides essential support to Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) functions across the organisation. The team is responsible for tracking and monitoring patient treatment pathways to support delivery of national cancer waiting time standards.

The MDT Co-ordinator team plays a key role in:

- Providing administrative support to MDT meetings
- Recording, tracking, and collecting data on patients with suspected or confirmed cancer
- Monitoring treatment pathways and associated interventions

As a Cancer Services Administrator, you will work closely alongside MDT Co-ordinators to support these functions, ensuring information is managed accurately and in a timely manner.

Person Requirements

The successful candidate will:

- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be reliable, well organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Be motivated to learn new skills, systems, and processes
- Have experience using Excel and basic data collection tools and/or databases

Contract Details

This is a permanent position for 22.5 hours per week, worked over 3–5 days.

- Opportunities for home/remote working may be available following completion of training, subject to service needs
- There may be potential to increase hours to full-time on a fixed-term basis for the right candidate after initial training

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Knowledge of Trust IT systems (NHS Mail, Maxims, PAS, Cancer Register)
- Experience using PTLs or tracking lists.

### Practical

**Essential**

- Ability to prioritise own workload and work unsupervised.

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of cancer diagnosis and treatment pathways
- Ability to participate in and contribute to improving departmental work processes and procedures

### Experience

**Essential**

- Fast and accurate typing and keyboard skills.
- Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly excel.
