This fellowship involves working alongside the Colorectal cancer team and has the responsibilities which includes, running two week rule clinics, including virtual clinic (VC) and telephone assessment clinic (TAC), attending the colorectal cancer multi-disciplinary team meeting and liaising with pre-habilitative services to ready patients for surgery. There will also be patient databases to keep updated and opportunity to perform research in these areas.

St Thomas’ has seven colorectal surgeons providing tertiary level care in a variety of benign and colorectal cancer conditions. The colorectal unit is a tertiary referral unit for the South East of England for colorectal cancer and advanced colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and pelvic floor. The colorectal cancer surgical department includes four consultants and regular MDMs held with the wider clinical team.

- To provide x 2, F2F, x 2 VC and x 2 TAC clinics per week
- To conduct research on colorectal cancer to improve patient experience and outcomes.
- To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care
- To participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training
- Attend weekly MDM
