## Job Content

### Job overview

We are expanding our Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist teams here at Imperial, and this is an exciting opportunity to take on band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist role in either Gynaecology or Breast.

We are seeking experienced nurses with a cancer or relevant speciality background. You should have some knowledge of the tumour speciality, transferrable skills and be able to demonstrate strong communication skills. You should be enthusiastic, forward thinking and motivated to join these busy services.

You will have the opportunity to gain experience working within a MDT and developing your clinical knowledge. You will work autonomously and as part of a team, to deliver excellent clinical care, and improve patient experience within the speciality.

This is a great opportunity to progress into a specialist cancer nursing role, while being supported to gain specialist knowledge and clinical skills in the role of the Cancer CNS.

- CNSs have the autonomy to act and accept responsibility and accountability for their actions, acting as a specialist advisor for patients, or a resource for others.
- CNSs perform specialist holistic assessment and treatment using a personalised approach. This is characterised by a level of decision making based on detailed knowledge and understanding of their area of practice.
- As part of the multidisciplinary team CNSs can work in or across many settings, depending on their area of expertise and scope of practice.
- Cancer CNSs deliver personalised care in line with NHS cancer plan, using holistic needs assessment (HNA) to meet changing needs, making sure people affected by cancer have access to resources and services, information and support and have access to a specialist cancer nurse.
- Cancer CNSs actively engage with internal and external stakeholders to continuously raise the profile of cancer nursing, promote patient centred services for patients affected by cancer, contribute to cancer care within their speciality and ensure high quality cancer care.
