The Children's and Young Peoples Mental Health Core Lichfield team is recruiting a CAMHS Practitioner.

In the role you will deliver a high quality, comprehensive mental health service for children and young people with serious and enduring mental health difficulties. The role involves managing a defined caseload with a focus on working with children and young people and their families who experience a complex range of needs and difficulties.

Acting as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will provide assessment, psychosocial, evidence-based interventions using a collaborative approach and will be skilled at-risk assessment and management. You will complement the multi-disciplinary working of the team, providing supervision for other team members, as agreed with the Team Lead.

You will participate in team and service development and evaluation. Liaison, advice and consultation with a wide range of agencies is central to the role.

If you a RMN / Social Worker / Occupational Therapist/Art Therapist with current professional registration or educated to degree level in mental health/social care / equivalent experience within the mental health field of working we would love to hear from you!

### Main duties of the job

- Take responsibility for the management of a complex caseload, which includes, specialist assessment (within service specification), and care planning in conjunction with service user and carer, evaluation of individual treatment plans for CYP with mental health needs.
- Responsible for participating in the setting of quality standards, including the auditing, monitoring and reviewing of practice in line with current clinical guidance practice and
- Assess patient's individual care needs, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
- Deliver a range of interventions in accordance with the agreed plan of care and Pathway guidance.
- Complete and contribute, where appropriate to robust risk assessments and risk management Deliver and promote positive risk taking, where appropriate, to improve quality of life and maximise occupational performance/independence.
- Maintain an effective reporting system by observing and reporting verbally and in writing on patient conditions.
- To encourage and support service user and carer involvement and
- Attend and contribute to CAMHS Multi-disciplinary team, business and development forums
- Utilise agreed outcome measures to review the effectiveness of interventions, as part of the care planning and evaluation process. Assist in ensuring that the aims and objectives of the service are fulfilled and to identify factors which may inhibit these from being achieved.

### Skills

**Essential**

- - Knowledge of relevant professional code of conduct
- - Knowledge of Children’s Act, Mental Health Act, the Mental Capacity Act and DOLS

**Desirable**

- - Understanding of psychological formulation
- - Experience of working in a crisis/intensive support model

### Experience

**Essential**

- - Experience of integrating care delivery across multi-disciplinary /multi agency teams
- - Evidence of extensive post registration experience with working with those who may experience complex mental health needs in the community setting
- Experience of working with children and young people who have experienced mental health difficulties and conditions.

**Desirable**

- - Experience of working with clients at risk of admission.
- - Experience of working in a CAMHS, crisis or community setting.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- First level professional nursing/AHP/Social Work/Therapy qualification in mental health, Social Work Nursing or AHP or equivalent with demonstrable knowledge and continuous post qualified experience/professional development
- Professional registration with HCPC, NMC or equivalent
