We are looking for a Band 6 Registered Practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary CAMHS Outreach Team in Gloucestershire.

The CAMHS Outreach Team is a countywide service in Gloucester providing a 9am-9pm service, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  We offer an intensive home treatment provision for children and young people under 18 years, experiencing a period of acute mental health crisis.  Our service focuses on admission avoidance, through home treatment and safety planning.  Following an admission, we work to support safe and timely discharge back to the community. We have a fantastic success rate supporting children and young people in their recovery at home ensuring they receive the support and treatment they need.

We are a supportive, experienced team of clinicians from a variety of professional backgrounds with a wide range of practice experience across both adults and children’s services. We have a strong commitment and passion for ensuring the voice of the child is central to all of our care planning and clinical safety management.

### Main duties of the job

As a Band 6 Registered Practitioner your role will be varied and would include:

- -        Screening and triaging referrals into service -        Offering advice and consultation to professionals -        Managing a clinical case load; building strong therapeutic relationships to deliver brief, intensive, evidence-based mental health interventions -        Visiting young people in their homes, community settings, tier 4 units and paediatric wards -        Carrying out clinical assessments and mental state examinations -        Working collaboratively with young people, parents/carers and multi-agency partners to develop a shared understanding of the young person’s story -        Developing safety plans with young people, parents and carers -        Working closely with networks of professionals such as Children’s Social Care, CAMHS and education providers to ensure the appropriate level of support is in place -        Providing supervision and leadership to junior members of the team

## Person Specification

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Professional Health qualification: RNLD, RMHN, OT, SWE
- Demonstrate current registration with a regulated professional body/ organisation: NMC, HCPC, SWE

**Desirable**

- Post graduate training within a relevant CAMHS field or skill
- Clinical supervisor qualification/training/ accreditation

### LENGTH AND / OR NATURE OF EXPERIENCE

**Essential**

- Significant clinical experience of delivering evidence based/best practice clinical interventions within CAMHS or related services and/or adult mental health settings.
- Significant clinical experience of specialist care planning & case management/care coordination (including complex clinical safety assessment & management) within a mental health setting
- Experience of identifying and managing complex safeguarding concerns, including using formal processes to escalate safeguarding issues

**Desirable**

- Experience of providing specialist consultation/support to partner agencies

### PROFESSIONAL / MANAGERIAL / SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE

**Essential**

- Expertise in undertaking complex safety assessment and developing effective safety management plans. This includes working knowledge of positive clinical safety management approaches
- Demonstrate profession based clinical reasoning, knowledge, skills and competencies regarding a range of CAMHS therapeutic interventions, including current best practice
- Commitment to developing the Participation agenda within the service by working collaboratively with children and young people to help ensure their “voice” is heard at all levels of service delivery
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and national policies/guidance in relation to mental health issues & learning disability needs with children and young people

**Desirable**

- Working knowledge of using routine outcome measurements within daily clinical practice, including ability to evaluate service experience and expected clinical outcomes
- Sound knowledge base of issues related to equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice
