We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Specialist CAMHS Nurse Practitioner with Prescribing qualifications and Neurodevelopmental CAMHS experience, to come and work in the socially and ethnically diverse borough of Tower Hamlets.

The service embraces continual improvement and the wellbeing of staff and has a high degree of enthusiasm for quality improvement and working together with partner agencies to provide the highest quality service to the population we serve. The service includes professionals from various disciplines including psychiatry, nursing, social workers, psychology, occupational therapy, psychotherapy and family therapy, who come together to provide high-quality holistic care for young people and their families.

This is a community-based post, across the Neurodevelopmental Team and the ADHD pathway within Tower Hamlets CAMHS. The post holder will directly contribute to the positive working environment within the service. The post holder will require a high degree of professional autonomy and self-management and will be required to account for their professional practice through appraisal and audit.

### Main duties of the job

Within the Neurodevelopmental Team, the post holder will provide evidence-based episodes of care, assessments and treatment to young people with moderate to severe Learning Disability. The post holder will bring clinical knowledge and skills to this team. NDT provide a broad range of evidence-based interventions including an established group programme, Positive Behaviour Support, ASC assessment clinic, Melatonin sleep clinic, consultation to CAMHS colleagues and schools, and direct work with children and their families, which the post holder will contribute towards. The post holder will join committed and enthusiastic colleagues.

Within the ADHD pathway, the post holder will contribute to the assessment and treatment of young people and families in this pathway, as well as leading on service development/quality improvement projects in the service. The post holder will provide assessments and evidence-based interventions for children and young people with suspected neurodevelopmental disorders.

The role will also provide a non-medical prescribing service within CAMHS principally to children and young people with sleep difficulties and ADHD and their families.

### Knowledge Skills & Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working in CAMHS and/or experience in Adult Services for Autism/ Learning Disability with clear evidence of transferable skills
- Experience of ADHD assessments
- Knowledge of current guidelines, legislation and recent developments in evidence-based assessments and interventions for children and young people with mental health problems/disorders
- Experience of working with (assessment, formulation and treating) a wide range of CAMHS clinical presentation
- Experience of care planning and delivering episodes of evidence-based interventions
- Experience of risk assessment and risk management
- Knowledge and experience of working with safeguarding issues
- Experience, skills and flexibility to contribute to and facilitate effective working within a multi-disciplinary team setting
- Experience of working across multiple agencies/services
- Experience of using routine outcome measures
- Knowledge, understanding and experience with diverse racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and families with a high level of deprivation, including working with cultural advocates/interpreters
- Ability to utilise clinical supervision and line management
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work flexibly according to need
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of service development

### Education/Qualification/Training

- Registered Nurse Mental Health or Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities or Registered Children’s Nurse
- Non-medical prescribing qualification

- Qualifications/ training in specialist skills relevant to post (e.g. ADOS, 3Di, systemic therapy, Training in Positive Behaviour Support or Applied Behavioural Analysis etc.)
