## Job Content

### Job overview

Applications are welcomed for this exciting opportunity to lead the Maudsley’s National and Specialist CAMHS DBT Service. We are one of the most established DBT-A programmes in the UK and in addition to our core clinical offer we also provide training, consultation and supervision to other programmes and CAMHS clinicians. We are research active with a particular focus on adapting DBT for minoritized groups and developing and evaluating novel, DBT-informed interventions for young people and parent/carers that can be offered as early interventions. The successful candidate will provide clinical and operational leadership for the DBT team and these various activities and will also have opportunities to work with the N&S CAMHS Senior Leadership Group on wider organisational developments and to contribute to shaping a culture of collective leadership within the directorate.

### Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operation of the DBT service. As the clinical lead you will be responsible for ensuring fidelity to the evidence-based DBT model, promoting adherent practice within the team, as well as holding a small caseload of DBT clients. Along with the other senior clinicians in the service, you will provide senior cover across the week by being available when team members require consultation and guidance on managing complex clinical dilemmas relating to risk and safeguarding concerns. You will also lead on certain service developments, evaluations and research and provide training, supervision and consultation to DBT-A programmes and CAMHS colleagues nationally. You will be responsible for monitoring programme outcomes and ensuring Trust performance targets are met. You will also work with the Senior Management Team to ensure the service operates within its budgetary requirements. You will need to have considerable experience of working within a DBT programme at a senior level and an ability to provide effective supervision and support around complex clinical and workforce challenges. You will demonstrate an ability to build strong relationships both within and outside of the team that foster collaboration, respect, and problem-solving of team and organisational dilemmas. You will have a passion for fostering team wellbeing and culture and a capacity to balance consultation to the team with a more directive approach.
