The post if fixed term (0.08 WTE – 30  hours per week) starting earliest August 2026 until August 2027, dates to be agreed at time of appointment. We welcome applications from newly qualified CBT Therapist with experience of having trained within CAMHS as part of gaining their qualification (CYP-IAPT training) and with BABCP Accreditation. We also welcome applications from experienced CBT therapists with different training backgrounds and experience of working with children and young people with BABCP Accreditation. The Community CAMHS team sits within the broader H&F CAMHS and is comprised of Psychologists, CBT therapist, Family therapists, Social Workers and Child Wellbeing Practitioners. We also have many trainees from different disciplines regularly in our team. The team is a large multidisciplinary team, offering a range of targeted, early interventions to children and young people age 0-18 who are experiencing mild-moderate mental health difficulties. ### Main duties of the job The post holder would provide a qualified specialist CBT service to children and adolescents in Hammersmith and Fulham Community CAMHS aged 0 -18 and their families, across all sectors of care; providing specialist CBT assessments and therapy. The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures and will be supported to continue developing their CBT skills and abilities. The person specification below is not the full person specification, but outlines the criteria against which your application form will be assessed ## Person Specification ### Knowledge **Essential** - Knowledge of safeguarding issues. - Knowledge of capacity and consent issues including Gillick competence. - Ability to be an autonomous practitioner whilst being able to work as an integral part of a multi-agency locality team. - Be committed to anti discriminatory/ anti oppressive practice and equal opportunity. - Ability to contribute to comprehensive CAMHS assessments, including risk assessment and formulation with appropriate support and supervision. - Ability to develop collaborative CBT formulations informed by assessment findings. - Ability to manage a mixed caseload of assessment and treatment work. - Ability to communicate assessment findings clearly to young people, families and professional networks through high-quality clinical documentation. **Desirable** - Knowledge of the functional operation of CAMHS service and teams. - Experience of conducting mental health assessments of young people in a CAMS setting. ### Experience **Essential** - Experience of working with children and their families in a health care/education or other formal setting. - Experience of working and liaising with a wide variety of agencies and stakeholders. - Experience of the delivery of specific CBT therapeutic interventions to children, young people or their families. **Desirable** - Experience of monitoring and recording outcome measures for children’s emotional wellbeing. - Experience of working with children and young people who have social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties. - Experience of working with anxiety disorders. - Experience of working with affective (mood) disorders. - Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds - Experience working with community groups ### Qualifications **Essential** - Qualification in an appropriate mental health profession, such as PG-DIP in CYP-IAPT Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or equivalent qualification with BABCP Accreditation.
