We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Business Support & Volunteer Co-ordinator to join the Cardiff and Vale Public Health Team.

This varied and rewarding role provides essential business and operational support to the Director and Deputy Director of Public Health, the Business and Volunteer Programme Manager and the wider Public Health Team. You will lead a small administration team, support financial and budget processes, coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities, and play a key role in the development and delivery of the Public Health Volunteer Programme.

The successful candidate will be an experienced administrator and coordinator with strong organisational, communication and people management skills. You will be confident using Microsoft 365 applications, managing competing priorities, organising events and meetings, and working collaboratively with colleagues and partners across a range of settings.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to improving population health by supporting the effective delivery of Public Health services and community volunteering initiatives across Cardiff and Vale.

### Main duties of the job

The Business Support & Volunteer Co-ordinator will provide comprehensive business support to the Public Health Team and coordinate the delivery of key administrative, financial and volunteer activities. Responsibilities include line management of administrative staff, recruitment and induction of staff and volunteers, performance management, training coordination and day-to-day supervision of administrative services.

The postholder will support the planning, recruitment, training and coordination of the Public Health Volunteer Programme, organise events and campaigns, and contribute to the successful delivery of departmental priorities.

The role includes supporting budget monitoring and financial administration, maintaining accurate records and systems, preparing reports, coordinating meetings, managing diaries and ensuring compliance with information governance, Health Board policies and mandatory training requirements.

The postholder will work closely with colleagues across the Health Board and external partners, identify opportunities to improve administrative processes, and provide high-quality support to enable the efficient and effective operation of the Public Health Team.

- Significant experience of working within a busy and high profile environment working with complex issues with competing priorities and workloads // Experience of working and providing administrative support at an Executive/Board level in a high profile/challenging role // Experience in a supervisory role // Communicating with all levels of professional staff // Dealing with confidential and sensitive data and the appropriate storage and maintenance of records // Using M365 Applications // Implementing administrative processes and procedures
