The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton are looking to recruit a Bowel Cancer Screening Programme Manager, responsible for the day to day operational management  of our Bowel Cancer Screening Programme, ensuring national quality standards and key performance indicators are met. The post holder will be an integral part of a positive, dynamic management team within a well established Business Unit.

Applicants will require strong leadership, communication and organisation skills, with previous experience of operational management, preferably within the NHS.

The Business Unit is responsible for the delivery of high quality care across all five sites of University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB). The successful candidate will support leading the Bowel Cancer Screening Service, being primarily based at Royal Derby Hospital with expectations for cross site cover at Queen's Hospital, Burton as required.

### Main duties of the job

- You will play a key role in the operational management of the South Derbyshire Bowel Cancer Screening Programme; working closely with clinicians, NHSE, SQAS and non-clinical teams to ensure that systems and processes are in place to deliver care of the highest quality to patients in our region.
- You will be responsible for managing demand and capacity and implementing sustainable improvements in process and practice to drive increased utilisation and efficiency in line with national guidance for screening programmes.
- You will sit within the wider SMBU2 operational management team supporting the BU priorities and ensuring effective delivery of services by providing leadership, support and guidance on operational related issues.
- You will support delivery of local and national cancer targets.
- You will develop and provide a variety of reports to the Trust Screening team, NHSE, Deputy General Manager and General Manager to provide assurance and escalate risks and issues to senior Trust Management.
