We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to support our Blood Transfusion Team as Band 2 Biomedical Support Worker with the Hospital Transfusion Team.

Previous experience working in a highly regulated environment is desirable. You should have good computer and communication skills.

This is an exciting time to join the Pathology team in Dorset. We are currently making great progress with our vision to create a first class integrated pathology service for Dorset.

The ‘One Dorset Pathology’ service for Dorset County Hospital, Poole Hospital and The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals will provide clinicians, patients and carers with a consistent and high standard of service across the area and maximise efficiency in the use of resources.

### Main duties of the job

To work alongside NMC/HCPC-registered staff in HTL providing a timely, high quality, accurate and cost-effective service.

To record both final fate and traceability of blood components. This will include administration duties within the electronic blood tracking information system, where appropriate.

To collect and extract data for the production of statistical reports.

To assist with a range of clerical and administrative duties in support of the Transfusion Practitioners and Hospital Transfusion Team.
