The Microbiology service delivers a high quality pathology service to the Royal Glamorgan and Prince Charles Hospital sites. This post is based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. This post is full time (37.5 hours per week) and participation in the 7 day shift system and overnight on-call system will be required, for which appropriate Agenda for Change enhancements are paid. ### Main duties of the job The ideal candidate will have proven post-registration experience within Microbiology and meet the full criteria of the Specialist BMS Band 6 Job Description and Person Specification. However, the service will also consider either a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist who has not yet completed the Specialist Portfolio (Band 6 Annex 21 will apply).   The Annex 21 percentage applied would be 75% or 70% of the top of the relevant band, dependent on the individual's previous experience. OR a registered Biomedical Scientist IBMS with accredited Degree, who meets the criteria of the Band 5 Job Description and Person Specification.
