The successful candidate will work with school-aged children in mainstream schools, supporting children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled clinician to provide high-quality specialist Speech and Language Therapy within an educational setting and make a meaningful difference to children’s communication, learning and participation. ### Main duties of the job - Working with increasing independence to provide assessment, diagnosis, appropriate intervention and discharge for children within the role.. - Working closely with children, families and other professionals, providing advice to others regarding the clinical management to support children and young people as relevant to the post. - Supporting the delivery of a wide range of school aged intervention packages in relation to the whole system approach to supporting speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) within designated locality community & school settings. - Understanding and meeting professional and legal SEND responsibilities outlined in the Children and Families Act 2014 including contributing to statutory assessments of special educational needs and delivery of Speech and Language Therapy provision as specified in children’s Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities Successful applicants will be required to demonstrate alignment with the Trust’s values & the behaviours aligned to those values - Accountability, Inclusion, Compassion, and Empowerment, alongside fulfilling the duties detailed in the attached Job Description and Person Specification. ### Applicant requirements You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
