Priory Hospital Ayr Clinic is looking to recruit a Bank Learning Disability Nurse to join the team.Based in Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland, Priory Hospital Ayr Clinic is a low secure service for males and females with a mental health diagnosis and/or a personality disorder. We can support people from all over the UK. Lochlea House and Gatehouse are two stepdown services located in Ayrshire which are part of Ayr Clinic also.

### What you'll be doing

- Deliver prescribed care to a defined group within an agreed framework.
- Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patients named nurse.
- Accurately observe and engage with patients in order to assess their need and evaluate their progress.
- Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.

### What you'll bring to the role

**Essential**

Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.The ideal candidate will be a qualified Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD) with active NMC registration, 6 to 12 months of post-registration experience, and completion of a preceptorship programme. They will have a sound understanding of NMC guidelines, requirements, and professional practices, along with evidence of ongoing post-registration professional development. The candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, a strong commitment to change, improvement, and quality, and the ability to develop and apply flexible, innovative approaches to practice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, supported by a minimum of six months’ experience in a mental health or learning disabilities care environment, and a clear record of continued professional development in the relevant field.For more information about the role, you can email VeronicaMorrison@priorygroup.com
