### Job overview

The post holder will assist in the provision of a GP Out of Hours Service to the patients of Western Cheshire by supporting the clinical team in an driving role. The post holder may also be requested to support other CWP teams in a driving role to support service delivery for both daytime and unsociable hours shifts.

The Trust currently supports the Real Living Wage (RLW) hourly rate as set by the Living Wage Federation and will apply a pay supplement if the national A4C hourly rate falls below this.

Various part time hours available.

### Main duties of the job

Driving Duties 1. Drive the duty doctor in the out of hours vehicles to patients’ home or any other satellite base where patient is to be seen; planning all routes in advance of journey. 2. Be in possession of current driving licence with a minimum of 2 years driving experience. 3. When on call, be available immediately to drive to the centre and meet the duty doctor. 4. Ensure vehicle checklist and equipment is completed before commencement of shift, reporting any problems to Shift Co-ordinator immediately or re-stock any shortages. 5. Ensure Satellite Navigational equipment and roof lights are in working order. 6. Ensure vehicle is loaded with all medical/non-medical equipment or stationery at start of shift, returning all items to base at end of shift. 7. Check fuel levels and re-fill as necessary using fuel cards appropriately. 8. To accompany duty doctor into patients home as necessary, adhering to personal safety policy. 9. Not to leave vehicle unattended except when accompanying duty doctor into patients house or working at the Centre. 10. Drive safely in accordance of the Highway Code and Advanced Driving Protocols. 11. Report all incidents/accidents to the Operational Manager and complete an incident report form before finishing shift. 12. Attend all mandatory training required by CWP and compulsory in-house training. 13. To report immediately any medical or legal problems effecting your driving ability to the Operational Manager 14. Maintain cleanliness of vehicle at all times.
