An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurses to join the District Nursing Service (Bank) .The applicant must be a Registered Nurse , be confident and competent in a wide range of clinical skills and demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development. There is a requirement for a flexible approach to work across the Bridgend, Rhondda Cynon Taff and Merthyr District Nursing Teams and an ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.

### Main duties of the job

The bank worker will be responsible for providing support to the District Nursing Team in the day to day management of multi-disciplinary/multi-agency packages of scheduled and unscheduled care for patients with multiple, complex and palliative care needs. This will ensure that an efficient and effective service is delivered to the practice population.

They will be responsible for prioritising their own delegated home visits according to the patients’ clinical need and geographical location.

- Post is community base therefore access to a vehicle to travel throughout the locality in a timely manner is essential. Enhanced DBS Check

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience in a wide range of clinical skills.

**Desirable**

- Competence and confidence in a wide range of clinical skills including palliative care, chronic disease management and wound management

### Personal Qualities

**Essential**

- Ability to diffuse difficult/threatening situations. Ability to deal with complex/stressful situations. Able to work in a multi-disciplinary/multi-agency arena. Excellent organisational skills.

**Desirable**

- The ability to speak or learn Welsh to a satisfactory level.

### Aptitude and Abilities Skills

**Essential**

- A high level of interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to engage members of the public. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Standard keyboard skills and IT literacy.

**Desirable**

- Local knowledge of statutory and voluntary services.

### Qualifications and/or Knowledge

**Essential**

- Registered Nurse. Degree in Nursing or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience. Evidence of continuing professional development.

**Desirable**

- Working towards District Nursing Specialist Practitioner qualification. Working towards Supplementary Nurse Prescriber qualification. Mentorship qualification
