We are currently seeking an experienced Children and Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) Clinician, at Band 7 to work via a Bank Contract, based in Welwyn for our CAMHS Services. You will be joining our Temporary Staffing Team within HPFT - Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a 6-month role primarily focused on undertaking the Duty Clinician function, ensuring a responsive and safe service for children and young people accessing the team. All applicants need to hold a valid Professional Registration and can evidence this.

### Main duties of the job

- To undertake the Duty Clinician role, responding to urgent referrals, queries, and requests for support from children, young people, families, carers and professionals.

- To manage and respond to welfare calls and wellbeing checks, ensuring appropriate follow-up and escalation where concerns are identified.
- To maintain contact with children, young people and families when their allocated clinician is unavailable, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication.
- To undertake telephone, virtual or face-to-face contacts with children, young people, carers and professionals as required to support safe and effective service delivery.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

- Assess risk and implement appropriate risk management plans, taking account of individual, family and environmental factors.
- Provide consultation and advice to colleagues, professionals and partner agencies regarding the mental health needs of children and young people.
- Work as an active member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to service delivery in line with Children and Young People's Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP-IAPT) principles and evidence-based practice.
- Carry out assessments and brief interventions where appropriate, supporting immediate clinical needs and facilitating access to ongoing care.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team and external agencies to ensure coordinated care and effective communication.
- Act as a role model in the delivery of care, maintaining professional standards and upholding public confidence in the service

Please see JD attached for further information and responsibilities required
