An exciting new opportunity has arisen within Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust in one of our key senior leadership roles as our Deputy Director of Operations.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate outstanding values-driven leadership, using service-user-led, data-informed and clinically guided approaches to deliver transformational change. They will use excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build credible, sustainable relationships with local, regional and national partners and stakeholders.

### Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful leadership and delivery of major transformational programmes, the operational performance and quality improvement, cross clinical services. They will provide visible, authentic leadership aligned with our Trust’s values. Their responsibilities will include, delivering the Trust Strategy, leading the Trust’s transformation programme, act as the operational lead for the Trust’s Emergency Preparedness and Resilience agenda, supporting delivery of the Trust’s financial plan; and ensuring performance targets are met in line with national and local standards.

Working with the Deputy Executive Director Group and the relevant divisional quintet senior leadership teams, the post holder will ensure that effective governance and compliance with regulatory requirements are embedded within clinical and operational management across the divisions.

The Deputy Director of Operations is professionally accountable to the Executive Director of Operations for, the performance of the divisions and their contribution to the organisation’s overall rating under the National Oversight Framework.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Significant recent experience at a senior level, with responsibility for operational delivery including clinical, quality, people management, and successful delivery of performance targets within strict financial controls.
- Experience in the delivery of an organisational strategy.
- Significant experience and evidence of strategic thinking and planning.

### Training and Qualifications

**Essential**

- Master's degree in a relevant field including professional registration (e.g., Health Management, Public Health, Nursing Social work) and/or equivalent significant experience in a senior healthcare leadership role.
- Evidence of continued professional development and relevant additional training, particularly in leadership, quality improvement, transformation and/or change management.
