This is a new 8b leadership role with responsibility for shaping and developing a high-performing, integrated FCP team. Our established model is fully integrated across primary and secondary care, with all FCPs maintaining clinical roles within secondary care services. This supports strong, collaborative relationships with orthopaedic consultants and ensures high-quality, seamless patient care across pathways. The postholder will work closely alongside our Advanced Practice Lead, providing system leadership and supporting service development across the pathway. We are seeking a motivated leader with advanced clinical expertise, strong system leadership skills, and a passion for service development and workforce innovation. ### Main duties of the job Key highlights: - Strategic leadership of the FCP service across Barnet and Enfield - Work alongside the Advanced Practice Lead - Integrated primary–secondary care model - Strong links with orthopaedics and wider MDTs - Opportunity to shape future service delivery and workforce model If you are looking to take the next step in advanced practice leadership within a progressive and collaborative system, we would love to hear from you. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities Please see attached job description for more information about this role and working at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. ## Person Specification ### Experience **Essential** - - Substantial postgraduate experience in musculoskeletal field including pain management and working at Advanced Practice Level including First Contact Practice - - Advanced knowledge and experience of a wide range of approaches to the management of patients with a wide variety of conditions including complex chronic pain conditions - - Experience of cognitive behavioural approaches to pain - - Experience of delivering group work - - Experience in managing highly distressed patients in group and individual settings - - Experience of supervising senior qualified staff - - Experience of leading a service/ team - - Active involvement in clinical audit, research and policy/ guideline implementation - - Experience of teaching to uni-disciplinary/ multidisciplinary groups - - Evidence of service development & contribution to change within the workplace - - Experience of working alone, managing own time and using excellent organisational skills ### Skills and aptitudes **Essential** - - Highly specialist knowledge within the pain and musculoskeletal field and ability to apply this in a clinical setting - - Knowledge of recent developments in the profession - - To be competent in the decision making process and ordering of any investigations necessary in order to reach a diagnosis or decide on the appropriate management of the patient’s condition e.g. x-rays, MRI, blood tests, EMGs, ultrasound, listing for surgery in line with protocols and guidelines.
